WebbHD599 has too much high bass, but it EQ's down nicely. Very decent sub-bass. X2HR has nice mid-bass impact and an incredibly wide soundstage, but pales in comparison in other regards. I like them both and the novice me liked the X2HR, but as I've learned more and tuned my tastes, I think the HD599 is superior, especially in timbre.
WebbI recommend the X2HR . I was weighing my own options not long ago and after looking at the specs for the shp9600 and the Fidelio X3 they are identical to the X2HR and the shp9500.
